The Ruins of the Jewish People

I was walking along a narrow country road. All around were open grass fields with rolling hills in the distance. The terrain was arid, typical California landscape. There was a shallow stream along the roadside, and tall green grasses and small willows were growing along the banks. For some reason, I began cutting the green grasses with a weed whacker. As I was doing so, I was thinking about God.

Then suddenly, I felt the presence of the Lord come upon me, and I immediately had this urge to break down and cry. As I looked into this field, I saw an old abandoned house. I ran towards the house, entered the middle (it only had one room), knelt, and sobbed uncontrollably. The house was made of stone blocks, and some walls had partially deteriorated. Part of the roof timber was still in place, but much of the roof was gone. I don't remember any windows, and there may have been two wooden doors.

As I was crying, I saw a group of children running towards the house. I quickly ran out, not wanting them to see me in this condition. I felt ashamed that they would see my tears. The children saw me and asked why I was crying. I wiped my eyes, and as I had no answer for them. I ran out of the house and away from the children trying to hide my shame.

This dream represents intercession for the Jewish people. God comes and calls you to intercede for the ruins of the Jewish people, which he wants to repair and restore.

Isa 58:12 “Those from among you will rebuild the ancient ruins; You will raise up the age-old foundations; And you will be called the repairer of the breach, The restorer of the streets in which to dwell.”

The Ruins represent the Jewish heritage, and the children represent the new life in Christ. The shame represents your heart for the Jewish heritage, people, and customs. He wants to see ancient paths restored, the Abrahamic covenant. You don't know how to explain it to the children who are the grafted branches (Gentiles). The presence of God led you to this seemingly in-between place, loving the old and the new. It is his will. There is no cause for shame. Donna and Carrie.

I feel the tears also represent shame and repentance for my sins.

Mat 4:17 “From that time Jesus began to preach and say, Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”

The children represent those who have been cleansed, forgiven and destined for God’s kingdom. For Jesus said:

Mat 18:3 “Truly I say to you, unless you are converted and become like children, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven.”

Cutting the grasses is significant because it may represent my early rejection of those upon whom God has poured out his spirit.

Isa 12:3 “Therefore you will joyously draw water From the springs of salvation.”

Isa 41:18 “I will open rivers on the bare heights And springs in the midst of the valleys; I will make the wilderness a pool of water And the dry land fountains of water.”

Isa 44:3-4 “For I will pour out water on the thirsty land And streams on the dry ground; I will pour out My Spirit on your offspring And My blessing on your descendants; And they will spring up among the grass Like poplars by streams of water.”

Isa 49:10 “They will not hunger or thirst, Nor will the scorching heat or sun strike them down; For He who has compassion on them will lead them And will guide them to springs of water.”

I had spent many years rejecting Judaism and Christianity, even criticizing the religions and those in them.
